| Apex Techie Wannabe |  System hung, need help!! I just recently replaced my 1.8 with 2.4 The system always hung during first boot. It says the cpu setting is incorrect. All I need to do is reboot without changing anything and then it works. Anyone know what's wrong?? I really appreciate your help. Luk | |

| H2-Hoe  | Roger - the Goat has you on this, if your BIOS thinks that your running your chip faster then it's rated and if there is a setting called "Speed Error Hold" or something similar, then it can hang like this. The updated BIOS should properly detect your CPU, plus, if you have a feature in your BIOS like this one above, turn it off anyway, you don't need it, it's for resellers and system manufactures so they can protect there waranties from screw-ups. | |
