So my computer has been sneezing a lot lately. For a while I was getting a BSOD if it was on for very long at all. I figured it might be one of my memory sticks, so I removed it, and it seemed to solve the problem. Then I turned it on one day and it took no less than a half hour to go through the BIOS boot screen which usually takes 10 seconds if that. But it didn't happen again.
I turned it on just the other day, and nothing. Well, not *exactly* nothing. The first few lines of the BIOS boot would come up, ending at where it checks my
RAM.. the weird thing is I have 3Gb of
RAM (2x 1Gb Patriot, 2x 512Gb Kingston DDR400) which adds up to 3072Kb... and it shows only 1024Kb, and stops right there. I'll get a screencap if I can.
So, is my
mobo fried? I don't want to go hunting down a discontinued board if I don't have to, and I don't have the funds to build a new computer. Thanks a billion.
