Default Computer Wont post

hey guys, I just tried to set my OC settings back to stock by clicking the restore to normal button in the suite that came with my mobo (OC program.) and it said i had to restart for the settings to take effect... so then after the computer shut down it wouldnt display anything but it sounded like my computer was still on. (I have an Antec p180 case it is very quiet)

well anyways everything gets power but nothing will post... Would me changing the bios settings back to "normal" make it not post? after I try to turn it on now the fan constantly runs on high forever untill I turn it off so im assuming its something to do with my settings... well anyways If i cant figure it out I will try to bring it to computer wizards (lokie) to see if they can fix it... I just hope its not a serious problem because I only have like $30.

EVGA 8800GT
ASUS P5E x38
2GB ballistics DDR2

The manual for your mobo can be downloaded here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

According to the directions on page 2-22 (48 of 174 in Acrobat) you use the CLRTC_SW jumper to clear the RTC (Real Time Clock) RAM in CMOS. This jumper is located next to the ICH9R chip on the mobo, between the two PCIx-16 slots. Location image is located on page 2-3 (29 of 174). Here's what the manual says:
1. Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord
2. Remove the onboard battery
3. Move the switch from Disable (default) to Enable. Keep the switch on Enable for ~5-10 seconds, then move the switch back to Disable.
4. Reinstall the battery.
5. Plug the power cord and turn on the computer.
6. Hold down the Delete key during boot up to enter BIOS and re-enter data.

I honestly hope you upgraded your Power supply before you tried to OC......

I helped you build this rig and that PSU doesn't sit well with me, I told you this in the begining.

If you have more troubles Dave, you can come by the shop if you don't feel comortable clearing the bios yourself.

:Edit: Never mind I walk in and its allready here.....Holy crap Dude what did you do to this poor machine?!!

Why 4gb, you really only need two unless your running some really memory intescive programs and even then 32bit OS wont address all 4gb.

Newegg.com - OCZ SLI-Ready Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

I have vista ultimate 64bit. I also run a lot of memory intensive programs at the same time.

I searched on newegg and I came up with these possible prospects.

Newegg.com - OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Newegg.com - OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Newegg.com - GeIL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

the last one im not too sure about... never tried geil memory before
