If you don't plan on OC'ing or anything as such the Zalman is fine... but it's useless once you play around w/ clock speeds...

i have one of the all copper 3100's it worker great for my old p3 800i it stayed at about 98 deg, but when i built my new sys i put on my xp1900 and i get an average temp of 129deg f , also i have to run it on full so it isnt that quiet. as far as i know the 6100's work a bit better . my xp1900 has gotten up to 145 deg f so that a little scary ( thats with the aux fans off tho) the bottom loin is if you want quiet they are great, but if you want performance go with an alpha or thermaltake

The guys got it right, and on the performance end, I would like to add to your choices Thermalright, Alpha, and Swiftech.
I am ordering an SLK800 very soon because I need something that has excellent performance and is easier to remove then my Alpha PAL8045.

I am working temporarily in Georgia and had to ship my system, it arrived and that big arsed heatsink was hanging on by one loss bolt, the other three were ratteling around in the bottom of the case. If that guy had come off it would have destroyed my rig. The SLK800 is a clip-on and I can just pop it off befor shipping it back.

The best heatsink roundup I've seen is at http://www.overclockers.com/articles373/ (scroll down to where it says "Air Cooling DIE Simulator C/W TEST RESULTS"). They test and compare 80 heatsinks. The top two performers are the Thermalright SLK800 (which is $49 shipped from BestByte), and the Thermalright SK-7 ($30 shipped). If you're concerned about noise, you can pick up a speed-adjustable fan, too (80mm Fans at BestByte).

My older Thermalright SK-6 still kicks butt, so I imagine the newer ones are even better. My SK-6 is cooling a 2200+ with a 200mhz OC, and the temps stay at 34C even while running F@H 24/7. If it weren't for the fan noise I would probably keep it on there.
