| Ok for the record and and help I have a bio-star ms-6340m motherboard with a 750 cpu in there.Santa is a coming soon and I am thinking of asking for a 1.2 Ghz cpu but in the manual it says "standard product support up to 1.5 GHz. 1.2 will be implemented upon request" the question is ,if I am going to put in a 1.2 is there something special that I will need to do or is this just saying that "We gave you a crappy cpu cooler and with labor charges and a new cooler you are going to have to pay some bucks?"And I would overclock if the board would let me but i can only go up 100 GHz,so i have to opt for this route. | ||

| Not really, just the usual stuff about making sure you use a paper thin, almost transparent coat of ASIII on the CPU die, and make sure you have good contact with your heatsink. The 1.2 will run a lot hotter than your old CPU. Playing in the bios isn't anything to be scared of, that is the nervous system for your rig. You need to get real familiar with everything that is in there. All you will have to do is change the timing from 7 to 11, save, reboot, and you should be good. Look to see if there is an entry to clock the FSB up in increments, you may be able to get beyond 1.2 that way. | ||

| First, you need to clear the CMOS. There should be a jumper on the board that you cross to clear it. After it is jumped pull the power cord for at least 10 seconds. The put the jumper back in the original position then power back up. You should receive a CMOS error and you will be taken to the bios screen. You have to reinput the values there. If you don't have the manual handy, get it from the MSI web site. You will need it to help you find the correct jumper and to help you navigate the bios screens. Don't panic, yet. | ||
