Thumbs up I need some help here

Alright here it isÂ… ok so I want to get a new computer soon, But! I am very confused as which route I should go, and I would like some input from your guys.

I have right now (specs listed below)Â… but the CPU/RAM isnÂ’t up to date.

How much do you think I could sell my current setup for, thatÂ’s including my hard drive graphics card and Sound(4.1 Soundblaster Live)

My friend is offering me 555$ (Canadian) and I guess its an ok deal… and then I could go get “all” new stuff wich would run me up about 1,300 – the 555$ or should I salvage the 9600Pro and hard driver, case ect and build from there… I cant make up my mind…what “price wise” would be the smartest way to go.

Im looking at:

Athlon 2500+ - $130
Abit AN7 - $142
Corsair TwinX512 – 3200C2 (512x2) 330$
9800Pro - $399 <- Is that to much?
Some type of DVD/CD-RW drive for around 70-80$

Keep in mind thatÂ’s Canadian so go to http://www.xe.com/ucc/

Your 9600 Pro and HDD are still good. Sell the board, CPU, and RAM to your bud then just upgrade those components. If you can find a buyer for a P3, jump on it.

I second that recommendation - last time I upgraded I bought an extra case etc and made a second PC outta the parts.....and sold it quite easily. Keep the good parts (vid card and hdd) and peddle the old ones, if you got enought parts or can come up with a little extra dough build another PC outta the parts and sell it complete - might be easier.
