| Apex Tech Fanatic Supreme | I was trying to take off a stock HSF off my motherboard but I had no luck. This is on a socket 478 p4. THere are 2 metal pulling things on both sides of the heatsink fan but i can't seem to get them off. Am i soppose to pull them or push? Either way I feel nervous about damaging the CPU ![]() | |

| There are two metal clips. They hook on one end, then on the other end you have to put some pressure on them to get them to hook under the plastic mount. So to remove them you would have to push down to take pressure of the clip then "swing" them out from under the plastic mount. You might wanna google it for some visuals. | ||

| Direct Cool Hoe | Lift the levers...unclip the four corners out and slightly up and lift the whole affair off...you'll see the P-4 in the 478 pin ziff socket sitting there with an integrated Heat spreader, that not only holds in heat but keeps you from crushing the Die as well... | |
