Default mixing ram............

ok what i am wondering is what would give me the best performance as far as ram. i have an Abit NF7 mobo that supports dual channel. it has 3 ram dimms and so far i have 1 stick of kingston 512 3200. i am going to be getting an additional gig of ram in the form of 2X512's. from what im told dual channel is only supported on the first 2 ram dimms...hence dual channel and not tripple i suppose. anyhow..my question is: would i be getting better performance running 2 sticks of corsair and the kingston in the 3rd dimm for a grand total of 1.5GB......OR.....would i be better off running dual channel with ONLY the 2 sticks of corsair for a total of 1GB? AHHHHHH!!!! please help,
thanks,
lyquid

You only bennifet from duel channel if that is all you are running.. The third dim will throw it off.. Also most mobos only support up to 1 gig of ddr400 ram. Something else to look at..

You can run 3 sticks of ddr as long as you have have 2 sticks of the same size and the last stick twice as big as the other two sticks. Then you would put the 2 of the same size in one channel and the 3rd large stick in the remaining channel. It will still give you dual channel.
