Default Abit IC-7 MAX3

Just wanted to know if anyone has any feedback on the Max3 Mobo from Abit yet. It's coming in the mail today and I just wanted to know some stuff about it. It's one of the best I could find, I just wanted to hear some personal opinions about it. Thanks pimps!!

Friend of mine has the Intel version. Overclocks like hell, but he's too much of a chicken to push it very far. Nice board tho

the max3's have a major VDIMM issue from the factory.... check the abit forums its in there. If you go above 2.8v and check in the status monitor, youll see the voltage fluctuating all over the place. Check to see if you have a later board revision that may have corrected this problem.

if you do have to send it back, Abit is VERY good with thier RMAs and are well aware of the problem... I had my new board within a week, and with cross-shipping there's no downtime.

After it was fixed, I can say the board is EXCELLENT and very stable.

i had the IC7 non g or Max. the only problem i had was with the 5:4 divider. i was running my 2.4c to 301fsb but at a 3:2 and 5:4 wasn;t stable at any speed. the memory i am using is XMS3500 2 x 256. also as shadowman mentioned there is a vdimm issue, either v-mod it or dare i say it....Asus P4C800E -Dlx with a Vdimm mod. allowed me to run 301 5:4 witn memory at 3.1v with mod

I do like it a lot... i have the xt at 475/405 but im watercooling the the GPU so its hard for me to say what youll get out of it... also hard to say what youll get out of the fsb since the best Im getting is 272/218 (5:4). I cant seem to get much more out of it than this even with lax timings, but i was able to tighten up to 2-6-2-2 with a GAT of A-S-A-A-D.

I've never tried Overclocking, so I'm not familiar with that terminology or the abbreviation yet... lol... so I have no idea what you mean...
