| the barton core is the designation for the Athlon XP's with 512k L2 Cache. the T-bred cores have 256k. and i may be mistaken...but i beleive the durons had 128k or none....but why would anyone want a duron? EDIT: Just noticed that you were going to go with PC4000 Mem, i wouldn't do that. you will never get up to the 250 FSB that would be required for that and the timmings would suck. i would suggest some Corsair XMS 3200 / 3500 CAS2 or Mushkin L2 PC3500. get 2 x 256 sticks minumum or 2 x 512's and run the timmings at 11-2-2-2. | ||

| Go to www.nforcershq.com and go to the forums and then abit. Do a search on the an7 and see what you come up with. There is a ongoing debate as to how crummy this board is... | ||

Not too much realy, it's kind of outdated and the price of new stuff is cheap... A new AMD XP1700+ is 50$ and a Shuttle AN35N N-Force 2 Ultra motherboard is 62$ at NewEgg. So for 112$ you can have a reasonably fast overclockable set up...hard to compete with that So I would not expect more than 35-50$, unless you can put it in a complete system and sell it that way. 200-300$ is a fair price for a complete working 1GHZ computer..A new 2ghz E- Machine can be had for as little as 400$ after rebates(They are very cheaply built and slow though) Of course..If none of your friends want it, try E-Bay But my best suggestion is to hang on to it for a second backup computer, never know when you will need one..and run Folding@Home on it 24-7 for team Pimp Rig! (#596) ![]() Oh, and most boards have 3 fan connections, thats what my Abit Nf-7S and Shuttle AN35N Ultra have. BTW, stay away from the AN-7 for now..still has a few bugs in it yet, it may improve in the near future though. The Abit NF-7S (Revision2) is a proven reliable board, Abit has a track record of having some teething pains upon first release. The first (1.0 and 1.2) versions of the NF-7S had some issues that were fixed on the currently available board (Version 2) and that is one of the top boards available today ![]() Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 30-January-04 at 02:19 AM.. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
