Default Amd Temp Help

what is the highest temp a 1.6 ghz AMD processer should reach and be safe? I am between 89 and 105 F... when should I be worried?

with any proc you'll be fine as long as your under 60*c or 140*f... you might be safe going a little farther but I wouldn't reccomend it..

Actually this is kinda off topic - but it seems 50C is the magic top number for AMD64s when overclocking. It seems about then during overclocking situations you may suffer shutdown problems. But to give an idea - with a 72 degree room full load at stock speeds I can only hit 41c with an alum/copper zalman 7000. My 1700XP IDLED at my load temps now.

But with a socket A I'd try to avoid 55C or above.

60c is the point where the chip might get damaged. The lower your temp the better the OC, end of story (as evidence my 2500+ would only hit 200x11 @44c (TTV7+) but with wata and sub 40c temps (35-37c load) i'm hitting 220x11)

Was just saying - you can't allow an AMD64s to break past 50 in any situation. The onboard memory controller has a fit. Damage or not, just saying the 60c rule doesn't work acrost the board anymore. Reason I said kinda off topic.
