ok really simple question... I have built 4 AMD systems... i really like the AMD cpu's..... what is all of your opinions on amd vs

I like the VIA C3....theres a real processor.

I can't remember the half dozen or so battles in the AMD vs Intel Holy War we've had at PR either

im sorry I am very new to this site.... and I really havent looked into the p4 but I heard they are stable and quick as hell. please just let me know if you think I would be happier with the P4...

It depends on what you want to do, there are some things AMD does better than Intel, because of a more effecient data "Pipeline"
AMD will run programs such as Folding @ Home much faster than Intel, but Intel will Rip CD's faster, just depends on what applications you use most of the time

But in general, Intel is more expensive for what you get....

AMD Barton 2500+ is 90$, the best "Bang for the Buck" for AMD, it can overclock to 2.3-2.5GHZ
INTEL 2.4C 800MHZ FSB W/Hyperthreading is 164$, Intels best "Bang for the Buck" it can overclock to 3.2-3.6GHZ

Remember, not all CPU's will overclock as high as mentioned above, it depends on the quality of the motherboard, memory, power supply and CPU...and a little luck

just thought it was funny... I tore apart an old comp. from 1982 and I have the processer out of it.... and sure enough it was an AMD cpu.....but the funny thing is it was copywrighted by Intel!!!!!
I just thought that was funny.... I drilled a hole in it and put it on a necklace.... I cant find it though

Necro, the source of that benchie might be nice. We cant trust any old benchmark that tom throws out. Haha, I know its not toms, and it actually looks about right, but you never know.

I very rarely ever post a link to "Toms" but if I do, I do it reluctantly, and warn people of there biased reviews.

If you click on the "Review" link it is to Anandtech, and says so at the top of the page in the review...

That is not my first choice, they tend to be a little biased also, but no where near as bad as "Toms".
