| Apex Techie Wannabe | Guys, I have a Micronics c400 motherboard. I can upgrade the memory in two of the three memory slots and the board works fine. If I fill the third RAM slot, the board slows down to a crawl. They are three identical RAMs I bought at the same time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! | |

| It means Column Address Strobe... Basicaly it means how many clock cycles it takes to process Data in the memory. CAS comes in 3 flavors: CAS 2= clock cycles= fastest CAS 2.5= 2.5clock cycles=medium CAS 3= 3 clock cycles=slowest Only top of the line Memory like Mushkin or Corsair use CAS2, that is why it costs do much money HERE is a link with a Tutorial w/Audio...It explains ALL the details of memory...better grab a Beer and enjoy! | ||
