Default Should I and how would i go about OCing my Athlon 1700+?

Ok Ive got an Athlon 1700+ that Ive had for a few months now and wanna OC...
Right now the CPU is at 38c under light strain, and ive got a 2700RPM Speeze fan and heatsink with some thermal paste on it
Would I be able to OC it at all, even if just a couple hundred Mhz?
And if so, how do I OC a CPU? Ive never OC'd anything before
thanks

What sort of 1700+ is it (Palomino, T-Bred a, T-Bred B)?

Here are some decent OC guides:

Overclocking 101

Overclocking 102

Overclocking 103

If I remember right the "A" cores have a stepping code that ends in "A". And, of course, the "B" cores have a stepping code that ends in "B".

For example, the legendary 1700+ JIUHB DLT3C is a "B" core.

The B core chips are way more overclockable and run cooler as well.

Edit: Post all your proc info if you can.
