Default Question for any p4p800 owners!!

I have the regular ASUS P4P800 mobo and have been attempting to update my bios from version 8009 which was on it stock to the updated version 1014.005 which just came out. First I tried the Afudos floppy and it went through the process and looked fine, no errors. When I rebooted after the update and went into the bios to verify it still showed the old version! At this point I took the next road and tried the asus update program and again it showed the process went fine and asked me to reboot. Again upon verification the bios remained 8009. Now just for ****s and giggles I checked the bios version in asus update and it shows the bios version as the new 1014.005, but if I go into the bios or system info in windows they both show the old still????

Did my bios really update or not?

What was the reason for updating? i have a P4C800E -dlx and am running the 1011 BIOS. BIOS updates (to me) are to fix problems with compatability, stability, and over all OC-ability. if you were running fine there want a reason to update

Well, in general I make it a practice to keep things current. I have never been a fan of the if it ain't broke don't fix it attitude. I think updates are released for a reason so go ahead and do them and if they don't work half the fun of owning a computer is fixing it.....a win/win situation. Thanks for answering my question Tek and thanks for the off topic opinion Rust.

Sorry "Chrome_Rust" I am a smart ass by nature and just didn't think your post was means to an end of my question. I just wanted a yes or no not the generic tech support answer like gateway gives a boxed pc buyer. I could tell by your comment that you know your crap and I didn't mean to piss in your wheaties man. Thanks for the reply and I will try not to give you any ammo on these forums...lol. Thanks and nice to meet you.
