Default sata-ide1 or ide2?

OK not to sound totally stupid but I am using my 1st Sata hhd on a MSI neo2 board.I am not sure if I use sata1 for hhd do I use ide1 for my dvd rom and DVD writer or do I use ide2 for my DVD`s...jo

they are separate controllers.put the rom on either ide channel, it won't matter.the sata drive will be master on whichever sata channel it's on(sata drives are single drive per cable/connector)
