Exclamation abit vl6 problem

I have been helping a friend work on his puter. his problem is as soon as he turns on the power to the puter he gets 2 - 2sec beeps then one continuous beep. im wondering if anyone has an idea of what the beeps could be. there is no power other then lights and such to the tower. we have tried pulling off ram , sound, lan. and still had the same prob. with the board naked. help would be appreciated.

Well, running a board naked is bad - you said no RAM, you NEED ram.
Try just using RAM and VGA card, unless he has an integrated GPU. Also, post your case pics and PSU stats so we can get an idea of if that is a problem.

EDIT - post all your system specs as well, if you are OC'ing anything, ect., as that will give us an idea if the PSU is too weak.
EDIT EDIT - found your rig specs on a different post, but on the PSU - how many watts?

First of all what BIOS are you running.

When you hear anything other than the normal one beep that means something is wrong.

I belive that board carrys an AMI BIOS, in the AMI bios two beeps signifys a memory problem

First try reseating the memory, and if you have two or more dimm try them individualy to see whitch one is bad.......If you only have one try it may be time to RMA that RAM
