| Like the title says. Well I got my new parts (Phenom 9600 | ASUS M2R32-MVP ) I strapped everything down, I power up. And I get zero video signal. I haven't a clue what the hell it is. The board's power lamp lights up, but the Ethernet port doesn't. Do i have a DOA? or could it possibly be with my having a dual boot (stupid question?) | ||

your board doesn't "support" quad core officialy but maybe with new bios...? & i think BeetleMan may be right you may need an Bios update ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
As for getting a new motherboard always better of formatting & reinstalling windows otherwise you're looking for troubles. BTW: if you can get an AM2+ mobo you'll be better off in the long run , but i dont know if there is a good one out there?

| Is it doing anything? Are you getting any beeps? If your getting nothing you should check to see if your grounding out the mobo on a standoff. Check your 24 pin connector and the 4 pin cpu connector. The compatibility chart says you need bios 1009 to support the new cpu's. You may need an older cpu to flash it though. Try booting it up with just 1 stick of ram. Try the other stick if it still doesn't work. Try unplugging other devices. Pull the video card out and see if it beeps? If you've got a spare PS try that to. | ||

Is your 4200+ a socket AM2 cpu? If it is then I would try it. Otherwise I would remove the mobo from the case and hook it all up with the mobo on the box, or another non-conductive surface. I would try swapping parts with your 4200+ system. Power Supply and video at least :-)

| I'm still wondering what bios version the installation cd came with.... got a feeling it's not version 1009 or newer, and it simply don't recognize your Phenom... Looking at that Newegg link, it don't say it supports Phenom - which it does with newer Bios.. | ||

| This thing haunts me to no end. After everything has been running fine, on first boot it posts, then hits a random BSOD, so fast I can't even read it. The second time through, it gives me the options of "What I'd like to do, due to the failed boot", I hit normal and it goes through. I've removed my soundcard, to no avail, I'm about to run memtest, but my memory hasn't given me any guff before. Soulutions? | ||

You did reformat right? With the new parts? Sounds like driver problems!!
