| Sophist'Hoe"cated ReDNecK Reviewer  |  P4P800-SE / P4 1.7Ghz hangs on windows boot Ok spec's first Asus P4P800-SE / P4 1.7Ghz skt478 / 1gb stick ram ddr 333 / Maxtor 100gb ata /CD rom Ive tryed two different HDD's and both do this same thing .......... Install OS get it all updated and drivers installed , it runs fine. Do some Orthos, Everest, Memtest stuff and its all good. Shut it down wait like 5 to 10 minutes boot it up and it hangs on the Windows XP splash screen. Shut it down and boot-up again go into bios dont change nothing and it boots up fine, restarts fine.Shut it down and wait a bit , try to start it up , it hangs again. I've tryed a new cmos battery, only hooking up bare minium, gonna try flashing BIOS now...... anyone got any other ideals other than the board is BORKED!! Thanks for any help or ideals | |
