| I got my 2200+ in yesterday and the first thing I did was break out the magnifying glass to look at the traces. The CPU is an AIUGA (anyone have info on this stepping?) It looks like the L1 is intact, I can see laser cuts on other bridges but the L1 is clean. Is AMD shipping these already unlocked? | ||

| Hey BA, can you post the full part number, like is it AXDA2200DKV3C ? or maybe AXDA2200DUV3C ? All of the "B" core T-Breds I have seen have a stepping of AIUAB. But I am still looking, and I will also check to see if your stepping is common to other XP2200+ Chips. BTW, is it Brown or Green, and does it have product info on a black label at one side of the chip, or just on the core? Edit: I just checked Overclocker's.Com 's CPU data base and not one of the 31 entries had your chip's stepping, that is probably encouraging as almost all were AGOGA , AIRGA , or AIRDA. Where as all the newer "B" core XP2400 , 2600, etc have all begun with AIU. Still checking Bro. ![]() OK, Just checked an article where a guy had two XP2100 T-Breds and both were AIRCA. To me this looks better and better, I think you have a new stepping at a minimum. Last edited by lcpiper; 19-October-02 at 11:45 AM.. | ||

| Clown, I was going to wait for the 2800+, but couldn't. I got a Dragon Platinum KT400 that will support the 2800 when it comes out. The chip is brown and the number is on a black plate, the core is clean. Part Number is AXDA2200DKV3C. Full stepping number is AIUGA0234MPM. I couldn't find anything on it either. It's an OEM chip. | ||

| Alright BA, it looks like a new stepping on the "A" Core, but I can't be sure because I can't find a single reference to an "A" Core stepping that starts with AIU, ALL of the chips that start with AIU have been new 2400,2600,2700, and 2800 "B" core T-Breds. Furthermore, although these new T-Breds that are so hard to get all run at 1.75Vcore which means their codes look like AXDA2600DKV3C and the K is for 1.75Vcore It was expected that the "B" cored chips at 2200 and below, if the show up, would be 1.6Vcore with a U instead of the K. But perhaps they still need 1.75V for the 2200+. As far as the bridges go, I would be very thorough with investigation what you need to do to unlock it because the bridges are different between the Palaminos, T-Bred As, and perhaps the Bs. Good luck my friend, hope you get 300+ mhz outa that guy. | ||

| I'm sorry BA, I really didnt mean to rain on your parade, I just have very little faith in the computer industry and ive found it better to expect massive delays and shortcomings of product and then be pleasantly suprised when im wrong, than to anticipate some badass piece of hardware that just doesnt live up to my expectations. its all about my life outlook, pretty much how i live everyday. sorry if it affected you bro. im happy fr you ![]() | ||

| BIG help, thanks. Yes, all my L1's are intact, and 1, 3, and 5 on L3 are cut. Since I only have to connect #5 on the L3, I can draw completely around the outside of the pit. Easiest CPU I've ever unlocked! All I lose is the 13.5 multiplier, no big whoop. Now if I can just finish it's new home so I can test it. | ||
