 |  Striker Extreme boot and lan problem... just got a striker extreme, so far its looking awesome cept for these 2 snags. does the post really take more than a minute to pass? it takes about 1 min. for the comp to pass post and then takes about another 1 min to pass the initial boot of vista. all i know is that its taking way too long. and the second problem is, which seems like alot of people have, is that my NIC's arent working. they dont even show up in device manager. the status lights turn on though. i cant find any drivers that would go for this thing. it maybe something in the bios, but i have checked that already. pretty confused right now

| Re: Striker Extreme boot and lan problem... My Striker Extreme has no problem booting quick on Vista a few seconds is all it takes. Also it recoginzes both of my NIC ports. I do have an issue with a 3 pin fan plug but I'm not sure if it really is a problem. (it shuts the fan plugged into it off. I wish I could help more but I'm new the the Striker Extreme my computer hasn't even been running for a month yet. |

| Re: Striker Extreme boot and lan problem... Ya that can't be good, have you tried updating to a newer bios. I had a 8800 GTX in it, that ran so hot you could have burned your hand on it. After a bios update the card runs cool even under a load. |

| Re: Striker Extreme boot and lan problem... alright got it fixed, turns out i didnt reset the bios, i had to set the jumper, THEN press the button. also for the NIC's, turned out i had to install a driver, which wasnt included on the CD. way to go ASUS. got the driver from nvidia's website.
