Doods, I got sad sad news.

I tried to get my AMD box up and running yesterday, and this thing just sits there. I pulled the PSU and changed it, only to get a REALLY odd problem.

So here's what it does. I preesed the power button immediately after assembly, and it booted, said it had no floppy (of course) and threw me in the BIOS. I set what needed to be set, no OC. I rebooted, and instead of POSTing, the monitor went into power save and it did nothing.

The green "all clear" LED on the board is lit up, the rig powers on, CPY fan goes, all the fans go, the video card fan, but no power up, no POST, not even a beep. Here's the setup...

Shuttle AN35N Ultra
Duron 650
Volcano 7+
256 DDR2100 some crappy brand, out of an HP
ATi Radeon 9500 hard-modded to 9700
Powmax 400W psu

If anyone's got ideas...

Did you clear the CMOS?

seen bad ram cause a PC to not boot at all, no beeps or nothing.

Try different ram please.

dood, remove EVERYTHING, including vid card and RAM, then try and power up...you should get a 1-3-1 beep code error (or a 1-3)

If you do, then you know the mobo and CPU are OK. Start putting parts back into the computer ONE AT A TIME starting with the video card, then ONE RAM stick, then another, until it finally boots.

If not, then you've narrowed the problem down to one of those 2 parts (since you've already replaced the PS with a known good one)

Try a different vidcard...

I have had a problem liket hat before and when I cleared the CMOS it worked fine. That is my 2 cents.

Same prob here, was with VC, but Im sure you are trrying Pimj00ses ideas.

I'm getting ready to try it all. Wish me luck guys, I know EVERYONE is interested in the eventual config of this puppy...

Okay, here's what happened.

I cleared CMOS, it booted fine, I got all the way to DISK BOOT FAILURE, rebooted to hook up my drives, nope. Nothing once again.

sounds like mobo dude

Took my video card and RAM out, no beeps. The only beeps I ever heard were from my CoolDrive 4.

definitely mobo then...time to buy a new one since you modded this one...
