| Apex Techie II | I'm going to be purchasing the Asus P4P800 Deluxe sometime this week from newegg.com. I know how to install all my PC parts, (except the CPU). But I am clueless on how to set up the BIOs when I'm done installing everything. Can someone with EXPERIENCE, tell me what exactly am I supposed to do when I'm ready to set up the BIOs? Pentium 4 2.4 GHz 533MHz Asus P4P800 Deluxe Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 1 1GB 3200PCI Overclocking RAM nVidia MX440 128MB (very soon to be ATI Radeon 9800 Pro A-I-W) 80GB Hard drive 7 fan stock cooling 500 watt PSU Here's the motherboard... http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...82E16813131450 | |

| The bios will already be setup for you...you just tweak it when you get it..if you choose to...looks like your going to overclock so you will need to change some settings in your bios to do that...but what in the bios do you want to setup? That will help us answer your question more specifically. | ||

| Apex Techie II | First...thanks for the reply. I'm going to be moving all the parts I listed up there into the new Asus motherboard. They are currently in an Intel board that came from Gateway, yes Gateway I don't know what I was thinking. But anyways, my question WAS after I hook everything up what do I have to do to get my computer up and running? I didn't know the motherboard would detect the parts by itself? If it does, then that's GREAT. What are the chances that it will? What are the chances that it won't? And also, in the future I'm most likely going to overclock my processor, graphics card, etc. How do I go about bringing up the BIOs menu? | |

| It should detect everything fine..but now your problem will be the hard drive may not work or blue screen since you changin chipsets(if you are). Are you installing a fresh version of windows? If so then you will be ok, if not then you may have to do somethings. | ||

| Apex Techie II | Wait...I just tried hitting the Delete key and nothing happened, it just continued to normally boot up and the BIOs didn't come up. Do you mean the Delete key next to the "End" and underneath the "Insert" keys, or the delete key used to delete text? | |

| You have to hit the delete key not the backspace key..it is under the insert key...and yes you will most likely have to reinstall windows or you can try to delete the enum folder in registry...I will get you a link to that when I find it. EDIT: here it is... http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread....highlight=enum That wont always work but give it a try before changing over ur hd to ur new board. | ||

| Apex Techie II | Urghhh.....for one my BIOs aren't coming up no matter what I do. And for two, this means I will prob have to do more work then I wanted unless what the dude in the link you posted says will allow me to put in my hard drive without installing a fresh version of windows. | |
