Default A7N8X Deluxe bios help

I am having a problem flashing the bios on my A7N8X Deluxe. When I try to update the bios from v.1005 to v.1007 using awdflash utility (both the built in version and from floppy) I get please wait in the message box after typing in the file name and hitting enter. It is supposed to go to the step where it asks if you want to save the old bios but never does. The bios never gets flashed and still reboots with the old bios in place. Has anyone had this problem or know what is causing it?

Never had that happen, because I loaded the Asus Update utility off the CD that came w/ the mobo.... it lets you flash from inside windows...

Which, for me, helped alot, because I have no floppy drive...

I was not aware of that utility. There is no mention of it in the manual. I'll go look for it now. Thanks.

EDIT: Found it. I'll give it a try now.

Utility works great. But if you do want to flash from a floppy, I do this. Put the flash utility and flash image on a empty floppy. Boot from a boot disc...pop it out when you get to the dos prompt...put in the flash utility floppy and run the flash utility. The bios is often too large to do a back-up of the old flash file if everything is on the boot floppy.

Drove me nuts until I figured that out.

That worked like a charm. I like doing that from within windows. At least that way if there is an obvious screw up you can still recover from it. Thanks Outcast. You're a lifesaver.

Yeah, np Hojo....

I'm still waitin for (albeit haven't looked recently) some newer mobo drivers and/or bios for my 1.04 rev board... cuz not knowing what my temps are is driving me nuts, among other general issues....

Long live the perma 21C load CPU temp & 19C case ambient...

I know for a fact that those are wrong... room's warmer than that "load" temp....
