Default ATTN: NF7 owners

I am currently running 2 x 512 of PC2700 Kingston Value memory. I would like to replace it with Kingston HyperX KHX3200AK2/1G 1GB Kit DDR400 PC3200 Memory .

Does anyone know if this memory will be compatible with my NF7 Rev 1 mobo? I check the supported memory on Abit's website and this type of ram was not listed.

If your using the NF7 no PC3200 isn't compatible with the baord but if your using the NF7-S just DL the FlashMenu from the Abit site and flash your BIOS...It worked on my Bro's NF7-S board.

My hyperx PC3200 memory came into today and it works on my Abit NF7 Rev 1.x mobo.

However I am a newbie to memory timings. This is the first time I got to play with this feature because I had valuram before .

Tell me if these timing are any good 7,3,3,2.0

heck man! tighten those things up! when i had my NF7-S i ran 5-2-2-2 all day everyday! and that was at 230fsb! sync! anyway, give those a shot, and if the box dosent post, hold down the insert key during power on.....

BTW did you ever get your vapo problem figured out?

I set the timings to 5-2-2-2.

During post it list my RAM as DDR333. It should say DDR400 right?

The good thing is the Bios recognizes that the RAM is running in Dual Channel Mode.

Yes I got my vapo problem figured out...It turned out that my 2400 cpu got fried.

it will say that because you need to set the FSB to 200 before it reconizes as 400.

EDIT: i noticed you had a 3000, run that baby to 200 x 11.5 that will get you to 2300mHz and increase the pipe......

The 200 x 11.5 will work when the RAM is at the standard settings but not when it is set to 5-2-2-2

ok run this.... 200 x 11.5 @ 1.75v Ram timings @ 6-3-2-2 @ 2.8v that should get you posted... if so , then go to 6-2-2-2 and if that will do it then 5-2-2-2.

BTW you said you smoked a 2400....... just out of cutosity, are your Initals A.A.?

I have the 3000xp 333fsb. My mobo doesn't support the 400fsb.

I upped the voltage to 1.7

Used timings 5-2-2-2
11.5 at 200 It still will not post.

200 x 11.5 @ 1.75v Ram timings @ 6-3-2-2 @ 2.7v boots up. The highest mem voltage is 2.7....I can't get upto 2.8

Nevermind....Windows froze on me.

My sys is stable now 200x11.5 cpufsb/dram 3/3 (400mhz)
Vcore 1.8v and DDR 2.7v. Mem is 6-3-2-2.5 My cpu temp is -15c.

I increased the mult to 12 (2400 mhz) and it booted in windows but it is unstable. Should I increse the vcore higher than 1.8?
===============================================
EDIT

I just corrupted windows. Would upping the VCore voltage to 1.825 cause this or would the previous setup I wrote above cause it since windows froze on me?

I just reinstalled Windows.

My sys is now unstable. 200x11.5 cpufsb/dram 3/3 (400mhz)
Vcore 1.8v and DDR 2.7v. Mem is 6-3-2-2.5 My cpu temp is -15c.

Windows freezes as soon as I get into Windows. I lowered the mult to 11 and it still freezes.

I put in a Enermax EG365P and I was able to set my ram timings to 5-2-2-2! That is something to be proud of right?

Try using 11 instead of 5 ? I think that is soppose to be better for the NF7 boards, MAYBE this is for the rev 2 though, I am not quite sure.
