Default Is my memory running at the proper speed??

I've got a DFI Lanparty Expert with two 1GB sticks of OCZ 500MHZ memory (see here and an AMD Opteron 165

Below is an everest screenshot of my system and some of its settings.

What I'm curious about is the Memory being shown as running at 250MHz and I thought it was running at 500MHz? Any thoughts?

I'm still working on bumping up my clock but I wanted to check on this before I went further.

TIA!!

You RAM is running at 240 MHz. 240MHz per stick = DDR 480. Sweet setup btw.

Thanks for the reply!!

I was following your thread with this setup and it got me thinking so I delved in and this was the only thing that confused me.

Thanks for the clarification!! If I'm understanding you correctly, if I had only one stick in, I'd only have 240MHz which is DDR240?? I'm only asking because the single stick of my kit, when sold individually, is rated at DDR500 (HERE) so wouldn't it stand to reason that the two sticks could each achieve ~500MHz?

I'm not sure so any addt'l clarification would be appreciated.

Thanks for the compliment. Your's don't look too shabby either. I guess you changed your LanParty to the A8N32.

cheers

So effectively each stick is running at 480MHz.

I also bumped my FSB to 290 with 9x Multi so I'm content with a 45% OC.

Thanks for your help!!

No problem bro, good luck with the OC! I didn't change my LP to the A8N32, I am running both of them. The A8N32 was a special gift so it means a lot

ADD: Hey bro hit me up on MSN sometime(in my profile) and we can talk OC. Maybe since we both having similar setups we could help each other.

I think I've got my OC locked in at a pretty nice point. I've been able to run SP2004 Orthos for 20 min with no errors on the following settings:

Code:
FSB Bus Frequency............................. 290 MHz
LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio....................... 4
CPU/FSB Frequency Ratio....................... 9
PCI eXpress Frequency......................... 100

CPU Voltage .................................. 1.300V
Above CPU VID................................. 116.8%
LDT Voltage .................................. 1.20v
ChipSet (NF4) Voltage ........................ 1.52V

I've bumped my voltages because I felt I was within the safe zone with those voltages and I've had no problems. With my MemClock at 180MHz 9/10 ratio, I've gotten my RAM up to DDR 522 which I'm pleased with.

I'm going to hit the sack now but feel free to hit up my MSN. Thanks again for clearing things up for me.

I had been through most of this when I picked up my system last year in May 2006 but, I've been away from tweaking things for so long that I had forgotten about the DDR being doubled.

Good luck with your board!!

BTW-I don't know much about the BIOS you're currently using but I've found that the 04.11.2006 Merlin version to be very useful. You can find it on Tmod's Latest BIOS disk (available HERE)

Have a great night!!

Credit for almost all of my settings goes to RyderOCZ at the OCZ Support Forums. Detailed rundowns for the DFI Expert can be found Here.
