ok
my motherboard is the a8n-sli deluxe. it is bios updated to 1016 i believe (which, if anyone knows that is a process right there)
the keyboard port came loose and i need a new MBD

so im thinking or just going one step up to the asus a8n32-sli deluxe

what am i going to have to do to get this done right..
(software and bios)

im also considering buying another 160 gb drive to use as an OS drive but i dont know yet.
i know this would make it easier to get set up. because i could just do a fresh install of xp and linux and call it a day.

i use a netgear wg311t wireless card
and a nvidia gforce 6600 gt from BFG

1gb of corsair twin-x
and a xp64 3500+

id like to get the system up and running and then later throw in a dual core opty.. for refrence.. ive been meaning to do this anywas, i just havent had the $ at the right time..

I don't understand where your question is. I think you need to rephrase yourself and add a few questions.

If you dont mind buying open-box and know what your doing.. Heres a good deal at newegg on that board.

How old is your MB? and how did you broke the ps/2 port?
I don't really understand what you're asking for but i can tell you that maybe you should try to replace your keyboard instead of buying a new MB.

So, can I ask why the hell there's a SATA port on the rear-side of this motherboard?

What good would that do?

External sata is excellent for external hard drive enclosures. Like this one- Newegg.com - PPA 2520 Aluminum 3.5" SATA External Enclosure - Retail



Also, my hd cable box has a external sata port that you can possibly connect to that motherboard and record/backup shows and movies from the box to the pc.

Yes i got one on my Mb too but the port can't break just like that... is it necessaary to replace the mb?
