Question Question About My Next New Memory??

i need some info
ok the mem i have now is 533mhz OC @ 650mhz
now my question is when i get my new memory even though its going to be set 800mhz factory setting will it run @ 800mhz or since i have my mem OC now @ 650mhz will it run at that speed and i have that much room to bring it up from there before it even starts to OC it?
(is there any truth in this)
or can anyone tell me how it accually works

this is what im going for

Well..if your Bios is manually set to 650MHZ ram speed, that is what the new ram will run at too!

That ram is rather pricey for 800MHZ, you can get plenty of 1066 kits for the same or less at new egg! (Hope you didn't order yet)

This would be a better chice for Corsair: (Dominator 1066)

Newegg.com - CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Or any of these:

Newegg.com - Once You Know, You Newegg

Hell..you could have even got 4GB kit of DDR-2 800 (2x2GB) kit for just a few bucks more!

Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

(And there are a few 667 kits for under 400!)

Question Re: Question About My Next New Memory??

now a question about my mem that i have now
i have 3 gigs but 2 gigs are 2 one gig sticks(double sided) and the rest is 2 512mb sticks(single sided)
so does anyone thank that is the reason why i can only OC my mem to 650mhz and not any higher because it gets unstable??
or could it be something else

Traditionally, having less sticks of ram makes it easier to overclock.

Though that from my AMD Tbred days, I figure it will still hold true.

Get rid of the 512s, and try it out.

or

Get rid of the 1024s and try that out.

the only thing that bothers me about the dominator 1066 or 800 for that matter is that ive been reading arround and havent found people with the same MB running at these speeds of ram at the most ive only seen up to 800 that was one reason for me picking the ram i did because i saw it in a review and it works for my MB
will any pc2 6400 or pc2 8500 work
just want to make sure before i even start to buy
thanks

Question Re: Question About My Next New Memory??

ive been reading arround some more and found out that the Model TWIN2X2048-6400C4 suck because of the promo chip inside them so i wont go with them
i would love to go with either of these
Newegg.com - Once You Know, You Newegg

but i ask again does anyone know if it will post on my MB please let me know
i may play it safe and go with these i heard they are fairly good OCers and they dont have the C4 chip in them
Newegg.com - CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
im going to be ordering something very soon now because i think my freakin ultra power supply its craping out on me i had to set my OCing back to factory settings because it kept on freezing up but it still does it (at least i think its my PSU?)

did alot more reading today on memory im sure my MB wont support 1066mhz mem.SUCKS I KNOW but if i do go with the 800mhz DOMINATOR its said that they dont OC very well because of the C4D promo chip so this looks more like it
Newegg.com - CORSAIR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
i wish they made a DOMINATOR that didnt have the C4D chip in it
