EDIT: Misread your post thought you were looking at GSkill's new 2gig sticks. Meh - I'd go with the new stuff. Looks like they probably use the same chips - but because of the timings I have the odd feeling they're better speed binned higher.

Even if they are not the exact same chips (Legendary Micron D-9 ) chances are they are an improved revision of it.

The timings are quite a bit tighter in the SPD like Iat mentioned, wich is generally a good indication they are much more confident in the performance levels...and I have yet to see a set of ram that could not do better than what the factory settings are with a bit of tweeking and a touch more voltage!

I would check out XtremeSystems and see if they have the lowdown on the specific chips they are using, I would bet there was a thread or two on them before they were even available in retail!

Can ANYONE find any reviews on this ram? I've been looking for over and hour and cant find anything on it but some people talking about it taking over the 2gbHZ witch is my old ram.

I think the price is going to shoot through the roof like the HZ did from 240 to well over 300 us.. I just have a feeling

They have better timmings than the HZ, so I reckon they'll be D9GMH (Same as HZ) or the new Elpida stuff. Try em out and tell us how they go, as thats an amazing price.

Found this, seems ok.

Yeah, thats pretty insane volts for 24/7 I use 2.2v for 24/7. At 2.45v (with a Fan) my 5400UL (Fatbody D9) can do 900MHz 3-3-2-1 (TRAS 1 is set with memset), try and beat that!

Old Fatbody D9 likes insane volts + really tight timmings. I'll try and find the max of it when I get home tonight. My new G.Skill is soo much better, it never seems to stop scaling 1.2GHz would be easy on it.

Well i got my new ram.. BUT i cant get it to run the stock timings no mater what i do.. stock timings are 4-4-3-5.. It will only run 4-4-3-9 If i set it in the bios to tras 5.. When i get into windows and load cpu-z it says the tras is 9.. So i downloaded Intel mem tweeker.. and set it to 5 tras. And this is the only way to drop it to 5.. I mean its not really a big deal to me.. its just kinda gay that i cant even run stock timings with 300 dollar ram.. You know?

Ive tried up to 2.3V and still nothing.. Was thinking of up dating the bios to verison F8 or F9 on my DS3 anyone had this problem with there DS3 or ram?

I dont know if its the motherboard , bios or ram at this point!!

BUT if i change it above 9 tras it reads it.. Just not below it..

EDIT : I wonder witch platfrom this kit was tested on GSkill 2gbHK 4-4-3-5, On intel or AMD.. Now this got me thinking now...

Which revision of that mobo are you using? I have a rev 2.0 with F7 bios, and it has no memory timings in BIOS. I'm not really sure what the difference is between that and the rev 1.0 other than the different heatsink (and Vista 'premium' support). I am waiting to upgrade the BIOS untill after they add support for the 365 Celeron. Also, the voltage reports a solid .05 lower than the voltage I set in BIOS. Do you have any similar issues with your board?

For your ram timings go to the main screen of the bios and hold Ctrl and hit F1 and them go to where you overclock it it will be there And for the Voltage issuse i do have that..

Sounds like a BIOS issue, I heard the DS3 can be picky. Updating the BIOS may help.
Found another review.

Thanks alot for the info! It will come in handy when I get my hands on a 365 Celeron and some water cooling! Hope the RAM works out well for you!

Celeron's for the win... Is that the new 3.6GHz version? My 3.2GHz one is doing well on Air, check here.

Indeed it is the 3.6 GHZ. It's supposed to be the last netburst processor from intel. The cedar mill with the 65nm 512K core should blow this 351 prescott away. I have a water chiller that Im working on to help me get some nice clocks off of this beast.

At any rate, It seems as if I cannot adjust the tras RAM timing below 9 as well. The RAM says it can go to 8, but no matter what number i chose below 9 it always shows up as 9 in CPU-Z. Could be the BIOS, could be the board. Hopefully it can be changed with a simple BIOS update. I Guess I'll find out when I get to the point where I need to flash it.

If your running the DS3 ive updated my bios to V F9 and it worked for my ram problem! Now im able to run the tras under 9 I still cant get this thing to work stable above 3.2Ghz. Maybe ill try some more voltage lol Maybe that will do the trick or something lol
