Default Memory Overclocking Guide suggestions??

I have a 2GB Set of OCZ Platinum Edition (Model #: OCZ5002048EBPE-K) and I'm sure I can get some great performance out of it.

I'm just not sure, exactly how to do that. Does anyone have a "favorite" or recommended guide/tutorial for overclocking this type of memory? Bios version suggestions would be great too, if you happen to know what would be good for the following system:

I have a DFI Lanparty Expert and an Opteron 165 with an OCZ Powerstream 600 powering it all.

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Is it DDR400 or DDR500? To get the best performance out of it, you'll need to push the clock speed while keeping the timings as tight as possible. With 2GB, this is difficult. You'll probably have to use 3-3-3-8 or more to prevent instability.

I've got the 2GB OCZ Gold XTC DDR500 kit, and it was able to hit almost DDR550 with my processor at 3.2Ghz+! I haven't tried max RAM clocks yet, but if you have the same chips I have (Samsung UCCC), you should be able to hit DDR550 or sometihng close to it with good stability and timings similar to 3-4-3-8 (3-3-3-10 is another popular timing setting).

Just a couple pointers.

This may be a bit too advanced for the time being, but once you get confident and start looking for those tiny little tweaks to shave 0.0001 seconds from 1Mb Super Pi (Ring a bell Ator ), read through this guide by OPB over at OCX.

He's using A64Tweaker version 0.50XT Beta in that guide, but the latest version (I think...) is 0.60, which can be found here.

Those DIMMs you have there should have Infineon under the hood, but they may say "Aeneon" on them, as Infineon have recently split off their production of DRAM chips to that name. I hear Infineon has been putting out some pretty decent yields recently, so you should be well on your way to overclocking bliss

Good luck with them.
