first ram upgrades

I have and hp compaq with 512mb and i want to upgrade to 1gb. ANyone have suggestions on what stick to get? And what do i have to do to get it all set up?

Im also planning on geting this for one of my sticks..anyone have it?

What ram is your system using at the moment? Are you looking at getting another 512 module or just a 1gb module? What clcok speeds does your system support?

i dont know but its a new hp compaq amd sempron and it has 2 memory sticks 512mb overall. I wanted to buy 1 512mb stick to upgrade to a total of 1gb. Then on one of the sticks i would install that thermal light thing and on the others plain heatsink. Is there anything i should be aware of when removing and puting in memory sticks?
