Which is better for OCing an Opty?

Lookin at buying either an Opteron 170 or an Opteron 175. Both are dual core and capable of OCing. Im trying to decide if i should go with 2x1gb of OCZ DDR400 platinum or 2x1gb of Corsair XMS Twinx DDR500. From what ive read the OCZ can reach speeds arond 250mhz with good timings. The corsair xms can reach DDR600 speeds of 300mhz with good timings. An opty 170 can easily reach 2.8ghz with a 10x multiplier= a fsb of 280mhz. With good water cooling and the right stepping 3ghz (300x10) can be reached. The opty 175 has an 11x multiplier so slower fsb speeds would be needed. Say i decide to go with the 170 and OC alot, 280-300mhz fsb. Would it be better to go with the very overclockable corsair, or go with the ocz platinum and run a divivder on them? Performance wise which set of memory would run better at those high speeds?

your better off not running a divider if at all possible.
Also only go with two sticks of mem so you can run at a 1Tsetting,if you run 4 sticks you'll be stuck at 2t and loose some performance.
