Default Corsair and DFI

I've been reading the boards at DFI street lately and it seems that a lot of people have had some pretty major problems with corsair ram in DFI boards. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience...I don't feel like posting at dfi street, their mods are way too anal about very minor things such as sigs and not listing your location.

Anyway, I was looking at this ram kit which seems like a pretty good deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227210

I use corsair in my current rig and I guess it's pretty decent, although I have never gotten it to OC at all (crummy mobo).

I was reading the review BA posted of the corsair 3500LL and it looked pretty good, but I'm wary of buying corsair ram now in light of what I've read on the DFI boards.

So, could anyone recommend me a great 2 gig kit that will OC well for around 200 bucks? Thanks

I've completed two reviews of Corsair RAM lately, the XMS 3500LL and the XMS 4000. Both are 2GB kits, and both rocked my DFI boards. OCZ also makes great RAM so you really won't lose with either brand.

I have perused DFI street and the only thing I can think of where people may run into problems is that they are allowing the "Auto" setting to decide what the SPD is instead of hard setting it in the BIOS. I had some stability issues using Auto since for some reason the Corsair memory wanted to lower some of the timings when using Auto, but manually setting them cleared it right up.

Over 300MHz using 2GB of PC4000, and hitting close to PC4000 speeds at CAS2 with a different 2GB kit is nothing to sneeze at.

No problems here either. I believe it was an issue with one of the early bios versions that caused people to have problems. My ram didn't work properly to start with, but once I flashed to the newest bios it was fine.

Thats correct. The first version of the lanparty UT bios was really touchy about ram but by the 623 bios they had it cleared up. My board wont get to windows with the first bios but as soon as i flashed it...we were cherry. I have the OCZ 2x512 PC3200 Gold Series.

That ram is BH-5 Sparky. I believe the Corsair is TCCD. Best bios so far for BH-5 is 702-2BTA modded by Tony.
