Ram?Or no Ram?

So if I bought this cheap emachines to help me get a little project going, could I bump up the speed w/ram? I have pretty basic ?'s so if there are some links I should hit up first, I'll take them gladly.

I dont think you could overclock a Emachine, your better off DIY.

If it only comes with, say, 256MB of RAM, then yes some more RAM would help. Other than that, no it would be pointless. A better processor would help a lot more.

Ya, that's about all it comes with.

caution... if that box has a warranty on it, when you open it up to insert the ram you will void the warranty...

only way around this is expensive ... have an authorized seller put it in.. aka best buy...

if you dont care about the warranty ... have fun, i would suggest going to www.newegg.com or www.tigerdirect.com for buying them

or if you just want a good price www.pricewatch.com but buyer beware, some companys are bad so pay attention to the ratings

If your planning on getting an Emachine... DON'T their ok for totaly useless tasks.
the bios from what I could figure out gives no options to tweak the system at all
I had.. er have one,well the mobo,cpu and ram. the case was sacrificed for a mod project.
speaking of which (no hijack intended) I'll put a post in the trading section to get rid of the emachine

once and for all
