| Apex Techie I | I'm not sure if someone has done this before here on pimprig or nor but after talking to ****Nervous over at gruntville about it I decided to try it and make quick guide. Tools needed: Dremel Minimum of two aluminum oxide grinding stones Corded or cordless power drill 1in hole saw ![]() Parts needed: Typhoon bay resevoir. Chieftec dragan case or similar case with similar setup DangerDen Fillport 1/2" or 3/8" tubing Clamps ![]() The biggest complaint about bay resevoirs is the fact that you have to pull the res out to refill it. Your other option if you don't want to use a bay resevoir is another resevoir of some type or use a T line setup. The only downside to a T line is that it takes longer for all of the air to be purged from the system. So I came up with an idea that combines Dangerden's fillport and the typhoon dual 5 1/2 bay resevoir and the res is also stealthed. No more pulling the res out to fill it! Okay so here is the victim for today my chieftec dragon full tower, this thing is huge and has more than enough space. ![]() So in this first picture you see that the res will not go back any farther. ![]() This is what is stopping the res. ![]() That is what needs to be grinded down. The two spots I marked are the pieces that need to grinded down. Grind down all four pieces in the back and four in the front. Once you are done using the grinding stone the back should look like this. ![]() The front should also look similar to this without the knicks. The knicks are from the grinding stone and were done on my stripped down dragon that is about to bite the dust. ![]() Now that you have everything was stopping the res gone you can slide it into place. ![]() ![]() Now that you have stealthed the resevoir you aren't going to want to pull it back out to fill it again. This is where it is nice to have the extra inlets on the typhhon resevoirs and DangerDen's fillport also has a second use besides just a T line filler. The first step for installing the fillport is to decide where you want to put it. Since I am going to have a 92mm fan in the center of the top panel I decided to get as close to the edge as I could and put it in the middle. After you have decided where you want to put the fillport grab your drill and holesaw. Make sure you have that sucker tight because it will do some serious damage if your not careful. ![]() Put the fillport in place and secure it with the provided acrylic locking ring ![]() ![]() Connect all your tubing, clamp it, and admire your work. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now for my reward. What is left of the chocolate chip cookies ![]() ![]() | |
