We had a similar discussion recently about this, referring to HTRN's AS/400 box using PPC chips. Surprisingly, almost every major computer appliance uses them now, with the exception of the computers that made them a household name... go figure. I don't believe there are any PPC live CDs out there, though I could be mistaken. Think of the possibilities... LiveCD distros for the Xbox 360, GameCube, PS3, etc.

Honestly the best options for a PPC linux distro are going to be Yellowdog linux or Gentoo PPC.

I'd go with slackintosh, I used to run it on my old G3, it was pretty good. Plus you can't go wrong with slack (BSD-style init scripts rock).

Seeing that I've been running Slackware for 4 years now I fully permit Evil Clown to kick me in the ass for forgetting Slackintosh.
