Default Linux xp 2008

Well on ebay they called it that.In reality it is linspire 2008 well anyway I was looking for a easy(if possible)transition to a linux O/S to run on my recently completed spinner case after long delay being finished(Katrina). So now I have it up and going with a lot of unfamiliar things to learn. But that was the idea to expand my brain(if possible)I have it hooked up with my clear XP home system with a KVM switch.I am using the linux system right now.Any way wish me luck on this journey,Jo

Good luck with it! Linux has some nice advantages, but the penguin can confruse the heck out of me! I just got the Ubuntu dual booting on my XP rig. Pretty nice setup, downloaded it and it installed itself... No CD/DVD needed.

Good luck. I'd suggest get some books to read up on. If i would have just read a book about linux OS's then i would have saved lots of time and frustration when i started.

I don't know why people say that linux is a unfriendly or not the norm, I think we should have been taught how to use it in school. Think about it out of all the OS's out there windows is the one that sticks out.

I have been pretty happy with Ubuntu so far, I am using it on my desktop and for a server. Anything you might want to do with Ubuntu can be found at Ubuntu:Gutsy -

Have fun with it :-)
