Ubuntu 6.06.1 x64 (amd64) read/write NTFS??

I've been trying for the last 3 hours to gain access to my NTFS volumes (windows volumes) from Ubuntu and I'm having ZERO success.

I'm getting really bummed and this guide HERE and I can't get past step 6 because it can't find ntfs-3g. Which makes me think that the update/upgrade commands aren't even finding ntfs-3g in the repos.

I have a post at the end of that thread which gives a bit more diagnostic information (what's in my sources.list file and other stuff)

Please Help.

I've never attempted to access an NTFS volume through Ubuntu. Having said that, have you looked here:

www.linux-ntfs.org - Home

After you sudo apt-get update, the results show some 404 errors. Maybe you're not getting the whole package? Is there another source or a mirror?

I'll see what I can find/do with the link you provided. Hopefully that will help.

THIS links to some diagnostic information of what's happening when I try to update/upgrade.

Still having problems though.
