Default Linux-Gamers :. NVIDA and AMD - new 3d drivers

Shortly before christmas both major manufacturers of 3d graphics cards released new versions of their accelerated drivers for Linux.

Nvidia: Homepage

The Nvidia driver 169.07 comes up with lots of improvements and bugfixes, a detailed list of which can be found on their driver page.



AMD: Homepage

The AMD driver 8.443 comes up with new OS support and a couple of fixed issues:
  • Red Flag DT 6.0 Support
  • penSUSE 10.3 support
  • A memory leak is no longer noticed when running OpenGL applications
  • Running X -configure no longer results in a segmentation fault in the fglrx driver
  • fglrxinfo no longer reports OpenGL Render string: as Mesa GLX Indirect on systems containing an ATI Rialto AGP series of product
