Neverwinter Nights was one of the most popular games to be on the Mac platform. Released by Atari and backed by the owners of the Dungeons and Dragons franchise, their Mac/Linux release allowed the game to flourish well beyond its shelf life and outlive most other games. But unfortunately, the latest edition was built with proprietary standards (C# and DirectX) making it so that it only runs on Windows and not Linux or Mac. This was mainly so they could port the game to the Xbox. But as a result, the Linux and Mac gamers who made the game so successful are left in the lurch as a result. So a petition has started to get gamers to boycott the makers until they release the game for th platforms that made it great.
