I am a newbie to this artform. I just need some help with the graphics part of a Case window. I don't want to just cut a hole, I want a design that is geometrically sound and, Something cool would be nice too. I am not much of an artist.

I am trying to Come up with a design to cut into the side of the case. I can work with the sheet metal, I am just not an artist. So I am looking for templates

Well I was asked by TG to offer my imput on the ideas around this idea. If you are trully into sheet metal work I would push the envlope and do something differant.

I have seen your idea but what about pushing it further...cutouts have been done before many many times.

Welcome to pimp rigs,A while back I had an old compaq case that I modded.Being a taurus I surfed around till I found the prfect bull pic that could easily be traced and retain its look.Got out the tools cut it out and installed window behind it.Yellow and red paint with UV inside lighting and Boom I thought it looked cool...Jo

ok i think ive got summin .....i dunno if you can imagine it, but maybe you can:

if ur willing/able we could go for a dragon theme mod and make it so that the actual insides of your computer are portrayed as being as powerful as a dragon. take ten of these, and put them on the side of your case where you would normally put acryllic so that they look like the claws of two dragon hands. now you can go simple and draw/paint some piercing points where the claws would burst through the metal, or you could be really creative and actually cut through the metal, but dont cut out, leave it bent and scratched up and pointing in all directions, so it looks more natural and real, like a dragon just tried to bust out of your case. you would be permanently damaging the metal of your case but then again it would look really cool. from this point you can also do one of two things. you can draw/paint a dragon head/neck/wings directly onto the case so that it lines up with the claws or you could go all out and actually take something like a dragon mask or plastic dragon toy head and do with that what you did with the claws. from there you could add some kickass lighting mods and stuff. i would go into them, but i want to make sure first that you like this idea, cuz i know its very different from what you said. you kinda just wanted a japanese dragon design on the case, nothing too wild.....but then again, thats not my style hope this is of some help
