Hey guys, here's my "im new here" post...

So, a while back i was looking for a watercooling system. i stumbled across a ridiculous number of reviews here on pimprig. but, upon further inspection, i realized that this was the place i was looking for. the place to commune with my fellow nerds, and gain knowledge from them. i thought i knew a thing or two about computers, but a few weeks of browsing worklogs, overclocking results, and benchmarks, i have realized how feeble my knowledge really is. i do intend, however, to expand my knowledge and get to know all of the fine folks here at pr.

A little about myself...i got into system building a little while ago (about a year) and have been goin nonstop ever since. i am a pretty hardcore no0b to a forum like this, so go easy on me. besides computers, i am an avid musician, and when im not building or gaming (dont ask, i suck) i am usually playing my bass or my first love, trombone. (im a nerd, i know.) i am also (actually first and foremost) a student.

How do i put in a custom avatar?

Sig info: HERE

Custom AVs: In the User CP, along the left edge, you should see the option to Edit Avatar. Click on it, and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, where you'll see what I screenied for you. Make sure to click on the "Custom Avatar" button, and also to check and make sure the pic you want as your av is the right size (so that it will work).

okay grandpanoob, im not that dumb...that box doesnt show when i edit my avatar....the page just ends.

I think you have to have a certain number of posts before you can have your own avatar. Methinks its 50 but im not sure.

I wasn't implying anything, I just forgot about the post count rule in reference to being able to use custom avatars...

Just a cautionary word before you do: I would advise against "post-whoring" just to reach the Custom Av permission, and that's not implying that that is your ultimate goal here... PH is basically just posting junk everywhere you can, none of it meaningful or relevant to the topic thread you decide to post in... Some folks get kinda ornery around PHing...

Look through the whole of the forums for stuff that either intrigues you (add another question to the thread or learn something in the process), stuff that you know like the back of your hand (offer some new insight), that sort of thing...

Pod_man, may I offer to make you a custom signature for you to use as well as the F@H Team PR sig?

Id be happy to flex my creative skills to knock you up something snazzy and unique
