Just wanted to say hi. I decided to join PR after reading a huge thread about modding the Antec Aria case. I've had an Aria for about a year now and love it. I added a blowhole to the side about 3 weeks after I got it and have been running cool ever since.

I graduated from PSU in May 2004 with a degree in Computer Engineering. My number one hobby is modding whatever I can get my hands on. This site is pretty impressive and everyone seems real friendly from the threads I've read. I've chatted on a couple different car and truck forums and eventually stopped because I was sick of all the idiots.

There was a PSU fan (female no less) but she hasn't posted in a while.

In the mean time, you have to suffer me ragging on Joe Pa... especially after we kill U-M this weekend.

After suffering so many losing seasons the last couple years, I've heard just about all there is to hear. The Big 10 is a tough conference though with a lot of good teams. Hopefully this year PSU will be amoung the good teams but it's too early to say.

I'll gladly give credit where credit is due but when Pitt fans start on me...

I got to ESU which is only a coupla hours away.

Welcome to PimpRig!! Have no problem with the Penn State thing.. at least you aren't an Oklahoma fan!!! (I'm gonna hear about that one, I'm sure!). You've come to the best site for modding info.. these guys know their stuff.. enjoy your affiliation, and don't be afraid to ask questions!! Later.

The only thing I'm wondering about the Lions, is where was this team last year? A football program is not usually something you can turn around like a turning on a light switch.

Here's my take on it. If you look at the score of the games last year, all the games PSU lost were very close. In fact their defense was one of the top D's in the Big 10 and maybe the nation! I believe most of the games they lost were by a margin of a touchdown or less. Their offense, though, was horrible and they didn't have any play makers. The offense needed a few good leaders and it seemed like no one was willing to step up.

Fast foward to this year. Something like 10 out of 11 defensive starters are back so I was expecting our D to be real good again. Also, we had a real good year recruiting, and we have some awesome freshmen. JoePa typically doesn't let freshmen touch the ball but I guess these new guys are so good, he's been playing them - and they are making some big time plays. PSU also has a real nice sophmore QB behind their 5th year senior QB so I'm excited about the offense next year as well.

To a lot of people, it certainly does seem like JoePa flipped a switch but to the hardcore followers, we were so close last year, we just didn't have any offense. It was really frustrating to watch games last year because I knew the team was decent, they just couldn't put it all together.

Over the summer I watched a pretty cool documentry on JoePa, and I guess after his brother George died a few years ago, he became really depressed and handed the recruiting off to his assistant coaches. As a result, recuiting at PSU really dropped off. For those not familiar with George, he used to be an announcer on the Penn State Sports network and it was hilarious to listen to him b/c he sounded exactly like Joe. Anyhow, in the documentry Joe said he finally moved on from his brother's death and was really involved with recruiting this past year. He said he was really excited about the new freshmen they got.
