Im new and I have to say I am F*&^king amazed at what you people have done with these computers. They are the sweetest things i have ever seen. Ive just put together a few normal comp but This is awsome. I am married and have a 2yr old daughter so its hard to free up some money. We have a throw togther pc thats runs good but I want to build one bad mother. I just cant get my wife to dish out the dough its hard with a family so Im left to dream looking at your creations. Keep on modding Im loving it. I hope to attend a convention or lan party soon for the first time. Let me know if theres any around ohio.

Modding mostly isnt about cash, just skill or time - although some cash is handy.......

True, modding is more about time & creativity than money. Doesn't hurt to have access to power tools and/or a Dremel, but I've done a lot of mods with hand tools only.

Plus, Ohio sounds like a good place to be. We've got a number of members near you, and you're more likely to be close to a big event than someone in a corner of the country (like say, Maine...just as a "for instance.") :wink:

I plan on building one from scratch. I would like to use a Quantum case with Asus A8N-SLI motherboard. I love gaming like unreal and half life. I willing to take awhile to get the stuff I want. Thanks for the welcome everybody I plan to be on here all the time getting ideas.

What do you have for a rig now - learn on it, make it bling a little...........dont be ashamed all of us have had HPs and Compaqs before - hell one dude here even had a Sony, no **** man..........Ok, if you have a Sony dont tell us - that is kinda embarrasing......

At least it's not the proverbial E-Machine... or a Packard Bell...

Cut it up..........smack a window in it, put some cathodes or LEDs in it. It may not need it but hows about a fan in the side or a blowhole on the top. Practice on the thing and make it look a little better in the mean time. You could paint the whole machine.

Here my advice. It may not be the best computer but its still damn usable and your surely going to be keeping it anyways, right?? Order a new case and move the whole machine into it. Then it wont be an Emachine anymore and you can do all the mods you want to it.......it doesnt have to BE pimp around here just LOOK pimp. I have noticed this place is more about what you can do with what you got then what you can afford and buy. Anyone can go drop a couple grand on a computer and build it - not much skill involved. PIMP WHAT YA GOT!!!

This is a HP532w - not much. 1.7 GHz Celeron, 256 MB RAM, 80 GB WD se drive, ATI 7000 with TV OUT running XP Corp. I use it for my media machine - ie ripping and feeding video to my TV. I gutted it and moved it into a Ahanix Master case, tossed some 2000 Honda Citrus Metallic Yellow on it and BAM.......no more gay looking little HP in my house. Make that EMachines yours.......








EDIT: An Emachine with a custom case??? Like something available from the factory, someone else modded it or do you have some work to show off???

Its called a Next And has a AMD athlon badge on it. A friend gave it to me. We gutter her emachine and dumped it into this case. Motherboard and all. Her emachine case could not hold a bigger power supply. Let me shut it down pull out the tower and take a pic. Its not much. Oh by the way your case does look pimp ****.
