Hi, just signed up here - found out about this place thanks to a thread by mnpctech over on Ars. That guy does good stuff so when he mentions the work that inspires him ...well, I had to check it out.

I have my first mod project almost ready to start - just a few more parts and tools to get. It sucks being on a shoestring budget, doens't it? :p

Well, hopefully I will be getting a lot out of this site - it looks cool.

Teasers? Um, well... gonna put some quiet fans in, and this will involve cutting out the fan grills from the pc case and fitting aftermarket ones, painting the interior and back of the case, repainting the case, fitting some kind of handle on top (to replace an existing fan vent which is not needed). I already fitted some blue-anodised thumbscrews everywhere - a nice cheap mod, one I bought from mnpctech. So far, so vanilla... also have interesting plans for the front of the case, but y'all have to wait for that For now, I'm just getting together all the parts so I can do all the work in one weekend. I don't really want to do one of those weeks and months long mod logs with random updates. Just waiting to get the fanbus and fans (sharkoon 1000s ) and some lighting. I bought some soundproofing foam but now I'm not sure about whether I should try and use it. It's pretty thick and there isn't much space for it in this case. I'll likely just save it for a future project. Plus with all the fans blowing in and out, I think it's rather pointless fitting acoustic foam... we'll see.

Btw, I'm not really a 'friend' of mnpctech's... we've never met. I just know his work from his postings on the Ars forum, for which I have much admiration.
