| Hello, I have been experiancing some lame download speeds for a long time, and have finnaly decided to get these issues resolved. I hope you guys can help. To start off, the problem is really only associated with the bittorrent, specifically the application Azareus. I have cable modem courtesy of comcast, and am using an 11mbps wireless router. I connect my computer via a very short cat5 cable, and get decent speeds while downloading things off websites and stuff. I also ping quite well in game, but when it comes to downloading via bittorrent, my speeds get nerfed. I realize this is probly a matter with my router, so I have attempted to unblock (allow) the ports I am using, but my archaic router does not have the same sort of menu listings as newer routers. The only options I have are as follows: Virtual Server Special AP Packet Filter Routing SNMP Misc Items Under virtual server it asks for service ports and service IP (actually only asks for 192.168.0.___). I entered the port i was using under port and 192.168.0.1 and in another feild the port and 192.168.0.100. I enabled both of these, but I am still getting a "DHT Firewalled" error in Azareus. I only use windows default firewall, so I allowed Azareus and my ports under the exceptions tab. This didn't help either. I then proceeded to special ap, which asks for a trigger and a port. I set the trigger and the port to the port I am using, but this hasn't helped either. I am not sure what specifically I need to do on my router to allow full speeds. If any of you are familiar with Azareus, I'm getting a yellow face instead of the green one. I went to my dads place in minnesota, and opened the port under his router and I got great speeds and all green faces. Why can't I do the same for my normal home!!! Help please Thanks | ||

| torents have alot of download issues due to peers, and the cliet you use also sorts the peers downloading from in an order, and some dont alwasy make it to you current transfer, i relized this after switching to bitcomet, and havent found a better application, but if you are having a problem with you router and blocks of some sort try running the cord from the modem to the computer and see if its different, it may be your ISP's blocks not your routers | ||

Good idea. You should see if there is a firware upgrade for you router (if you haven't already looked.) May give you more flexibility. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
