Default New ISP

I live in Tipp City, Ohio. And after about 2 years of verizon dsl, I'm sick of it. I'm sick of the stupid monthly bandwitdh loss, I'm sick of my ping jumping from 60 to 100+ during those bandwitdh loss times. I'm sick of thier crappy service. It's time for a new isp. So what do you guys use, and what do you pay.

That's the total opposite of what I'm getting with Verizon. I don't lose bandwidth and I get excellent service.
When I have problems with my DSL, a quick call to Verizon gets the job done. The tech support is fantastic and the best tech support I've had.

Well if you do need a new ISP then probably go for RoadRunner. A few of my friends have RoadRunner and have experienced no problems with them.

Just look for their deals. Its for a year only but usually they have good deals around june. After a year you can renew pretty much the same plan.

Roadrunner isn't too bad, I got 3MB service for $30/month for a year, normally $45/month.

We just switched to SBC Yahoo! DSL 3MB service for $17.99/month for a year.

Both connections are active in our house right now, and I've got to say, they are nearly the same speeds, and I've had no downtime with the DSL yet, compared to the occasional outages I experience with cable.

If Charter is available in your area stay away. They suck better than my vacuum.

Heh, if you check now, at&t/SBC Yahoo is offering 12.99/month for a year for 1.5Mbps/768kbps.
Just signed up for it, but at the 14.95/month rate through a Cingular store.
at&t just bought SBC Yahoo and Cingular.......

hey man i happen to work for charter and just to let you know that is one of the OLD ancheint accounts. there are better ones available. all you have to do is have the account holder call in and see whats available. I know there are some good discounts available for the 3m and 5m accounts and in some areas the 10m is available. also if you are having some issues w the conn just send me a pm and ill see what i can do. however being in mn you would be in a different billing system than i can access but ill try to help you out as well as anyone here that uses charter.

I love to call Charter up on that, they freak out cause they are selling you a service and if it doesnt meet what they are saying @minimum then you can usually barter a deal out (we ended up with free internet for a month and then upgrade to the next level for 6) Its not that I'm an a$$ to them, I mean they are advertising for that speed and I AM playing for it so how is it not my right to whine when Im not getting the speed Im paying for?

I may hit you up on that, but I've been very happy since they relaid the cable to our house (turned out ours was over 30 years old!)

I hate you Rogers. I am sick of getting my connection throtled, it's so obvious when its happening I don't need the writen proof. Not only am I sick of your throtling my connection I'm also pissed at the amount of games I drop out of on xbox or even worse, when I'm in a poker game with real money involved. I'm mad about the years of ****ty service and high prices but I'm also glad because while complaining to my friends, My new ISP ACN was brought to my attention. Their rates can't be beat, there are more advanteges and savings and there is an awesome oppertunity if you want it. I signed up through a rep site. And I havent droped out of games or had my connection throtled plus they don't have a download limit.

Good bye Rogers...........for life!

Even better, it's a referrals based scheme!! - You know, kind of like a pyramid-shape, but less pointy at the top - MasterP
