i have been having trouble setting up a VPN between me and a friend of mine. i have set the connection IN on his computer. no i just need to set up the OUT connection on my computer. so by using the easy thing set up wizard. i go into my network places. click make a new connection. i proceed to make a conneection to my workplace or other computer. so i can connect via dial up or VPN. i click next and there are 2 options greyed out so i can not select them. one is connect through dial up and the other through the internet. i have been able to set up a VPN numerous times. this is the only time that i have run into this problem. i have turned off all firewalls and it is still not allowing me to change it. one thing different between his comp. and mine. is i have SP 2 on my machine, and he has not installed it yet. but i don't think that would be the problem i have set up VPNs on just Win 2k machines. and it still worked. i need some help on what i might need to change on my machine before i can connect.

cmon this has been open for 2 days, and there is not a reply yet? i have tried setting up a VPN on xp. i can not get this thing to set up. i have everything on my friends computer set up for both incoming and outgoing. so in the off chance that i get my comp. set up, he can connect to mine, or i can connect to his.

ok...um. never mind then. uh. thats kool. i guess i will find out what is going on somewheres else. but if u still feel like posting something i will check it every now and again. thanks anyways.
