How do i enable the firewall in my router ? (DI-604 fireware 3.51)

i know how to enter my router & change the clock & did the update for my fireware that is to much easy

but the problem is when enabling my firewall is what do i enter for the source & Destination & what number should i use for the ip range star/end??

how should i know what number to enter??

Don't do anything on that page.

If anthing click on dissable as that is for MAC and IP filtering to allow someone past your firewall without you first sending a request to them.

Well, I need more information on your router. Like what revision it is. I looked on the dlink website and they have a couple of manuals for that product based on what revision number it is.

ok for one, you should only use the firewall if you are indeed overly concerned about hackers and whatnot! but then again there is always the secruity center in XP pro if you upgrade to SP2

i don't trust the auto update so i go check from time to time usely once or twice a week.

Um, AFAIK, as long as all your ports and closed, you're fine. Kept my families house safe for years.

You shouldn't need to "enable" the firewall on the router, it's already "enabled". Although I did not check to see if youy are talking about a wireless or a normal ethernet router. In the case of wireless there is other things you should do to protect yourself other than just using the built in firewall. Fantazmic2 wrote a good guide on wireless security (not sure if your router is wireless or not) but you can check it out here.
