internet gateway + router troubles again!

This happened on a friends computer two weeks ago, now its on mine. After reformatting computer runs fine for a week then all of a sudden in the middle of a game BAM! no internet :-/ virus scan pulls up nothing, check network connections and i see the internet gateway. I cant disable or get rid of it, nothing helps! then i bypass my router and go straight into my modem now its working like before but i need the router so how can i fix this??

shut down all the systems on the network. and hit the reset on the router. sounds like the router may be buggy. see what happens at that point.
